I was having some crash/freeze problems using older hardware, in this case an older iPad for the main Zwift app - which could not upgrade to current v14 of iOS (old device maxed at v12.6). Upgraded the hardware to a current iPad and all gremlins are gone. Not saying this is a fix for you, but do beware of any "behind current" status of software or hardware. This virtual bike theater is becoming a rather complex toolchain.
