I dunno, maybe it's one of those unwritten laws like "never pass a cop on the freeway who is going the speed limit", never telling them their jackboots and poofy director's pants look silly, or never asking them if you can touch their gun. These things don't appear in the vehicle code, but you'll still be in trouble if you violate them.
