I did. It didn’t feel right to me. I applied a lot of force and it would move a little bit then stop, move the same amount then stop. I did it about four times but it didn’t feel like I was tightening anything almost felt like my lock ring was slipping but I verified that it wasn’t. Still the same amount of play as before I tried to tighten it.


I then tried to take it off using a chain whip but it wouldn’t budge at all. Of course now I really want to ride tomorrow.


The play isn’t noticeable if I rock the small cog back and forth but If I rock the largest cog back and forth you can see play and hear it.

Not really sure what to do. The lock ring is def torqued to 40 nm, I wonder if the play has always been there if that is even possible.
