Twenty-two year old, stayed on the scene, cooperated with the police, no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved. I have no official (or unofficial) source for any charging decisions, but that smells like no criminal prosecution to me. I'm not saying that what should happen, just my $.02 on what I think will happen.

This all could change in the direction of prosecuting the driver if the cops determine that the driver was on the phone or texting at the time.

I also note that the news stories say (in the body, not the headlines) the Mr. Knapp was "struck by a car" or such. Not good enough - the should say the driver drove his car/truck/vehicle into the bike - but it's at least a step forward from the very dismissive sounding "bike crash." Maybe we are (slowly) being heard. Maybe.
