I have a GUB handlebar extender that I have used for a couple of years. It is strong and durable. I can lift the front of my recumbent trike by the extender and it doesn't break. These days there are quite a lot of aluminum/carbon fiber extenders so the price has dropped more than half below what I paid for mine.
Nope. Try K-edge. They are aluminum. and best quality and more aero if that matters, but more expensive.
