Would tend to agree that $600 is a lot for a project bike with a dented tube. Even with the parts included you looking at $200-300 plus labor to complete the build right and then you still have bike with some issues. If your going to put this much money and time into a build I would say your really want to start with a bike that doesn't have issues.
Yes it is a bit much and I really should travel to see this bike in person before making a decision. As for the build, that is my hobby and most work is done by me. I like to get dusty, crusty old bikes and restore them. Of course I always end up putting much more money into the bike than it's worth (see my chrome Schwinn Voyager build here -
