I recently had surgery which made me taller

I gained about 2 inches and I'm not sure if i should get a custom bike built to suit my needs or if i should get a general bike and go off the suggested manufacturer sizing. Of course, I want a long-term, sturdy ride but I haven't had any experience with custom bikes, yet. Any advice?
