You do need to double check that you can get enough bar height on the smaller frame though if you don't like a low position. But on my Tarmac, I have only a 10 mm spacer under the stem, of the 30 mm of spacers it came with new.
Sadly they don't have a single one in stock I can try - the lbs guy did say next time they get one in for service/work he'll give me a bell to quickly try it out, but after some research it looks like a 54 should be fine for me. Mind you it looks like I'll be waiting quite some time for the bike!
