The first LBS I worked at was Orinda Spoke and Pedal. Ciocc was one of the framesets we sold. These were purchased as a frame, built to customer spec. Almost all of them went out the door with Campy Super Record Gruppos, but there was no "standard" build, so saying the parts weren't standard doesn't really mean anything.
That was true for most high-end bikes in the mid 80's. TSD did have complete build specs too though, and they advertised them. Especially the ones with pantographed bits.
