That's precisely the feeling I get as well. And it seems the words are also hard to come out.

Perhaps I should try to recreate that feeling, and test out a candy, honey, energy chewies, pop etc.

The dryness + track-hack/pursuiter's cough = an experience not looking forward to repeat...
