I bought the mtb in 2018 for $3k, a super deal from a friend at the LBS. The most I've ever spent on a bike and more than all but 2 of the many cars I've had.

Been looking at a BMC, even went to a dealer and looked at them. The 105 bike is $2700 and the Ultegra takes it up to $3400, or so. Luckily they didn't have either in stock in my size and only had one for $6700. They said they could order whatever I wanted and I could have it in a couple months, or sooner. I chickened out.
