I also highly recommend the Knog Road Blindr R. It's the brightest ~$50 tail light out there. I've had drivers slow down and ask me what kind of light it was.
FYI, the LEDs are canted to compensate for seat tube angle. In other words, the lights don't shine down, they shine directly backward into driver's eyes. I initially discounted the Knog because I thought the LEDs shone downward.
