If I get back to a "half to be there on time" commute situation again and find the good, reliable commuter tubulars, they will go on my winter/rain/city bikes. (Cyclocross in the winter.) I did this for 25 years; most of which without a car. Stopped for money and marriage reasons. I could cut commute times closer because tire changes were easy, fast and certain. Changes were not harder or more uncertain in the dark, rain, snow or inebriated. (Straight tread patterns were very much affected but those crooked tires rode home just fine!)
