You think a manufacturer isn’t going to build in some extra safety on top of its “max” recommendation?
You think it's smart to run the experiment to determine just how large that "extra safety" is? Ever hear of metal fatigue? Just because you're getting away with it so far doesn't mean you aren't pushing towards failure.
