In my memory, it was magic. Quick but stable, easy to ride no handed, carried a load, comfortable all day.
Maybe I should leave the memory undisturbed!
But if I saw one that triggered my memory, I'd drive and spend and pursue that, out of proportion to it's nominal value.
I have the same desire too. Was looking on Ebay just yesterday for the like.of the bike I rode from 85-87 in Germany. Beige with those orange rainbow decals, full fenders, rear rack, generator and lights. I think I used that bike more than my BMW 2002ti for getting around over there.
