I was hospitalized in 1999 for it. I had been running high fevers for two weeks before the doc finally hospitalized me. It probably didn't hurt that I threw up in his examining room while shaking, fevering, etc.
I didn't have the fever type symptoms, maybe because my pcp had me on antibiotics of one kind or another for a couple months before I was referred to the urologist.
