Truth be told, this is the dinner table. The external monitor became a necessity when Sam came along because when he lay on the keyboard (as pictured above), his big boof-head would block the screen.

Not shown is a piece of cork-board flooring that I use to protect the keyboard on said laptop so I don't wind up "extras" in my code:
