I think Max Sciandri did ride for 7-11. I remember he showed up at a big criterium in Beverly Hills in the late eighties, pre-Motorola. He was living in L.A. and did the race unattached. He then got picked up by 7-11 and rode domestic races for a year or two. When Motorola happened he got back over to Europe. I might be fuzzy on details, I was racing juniors when all of this was happening.
