New information should change one's opinion? To one degree or another, yes .... depending on the quality of the information. Maybe it strengthens the opinion, or reverses it, or alters it in some other way ....

When the opinion is in no way based on fact, the Fact should indeed change the opinion .... otherwise the opinion is Invalid, as in, it does not correspond accurately to the actual world.

Some of us try to base our opinions in fact, and we are not afraid to change opinions when we learn more accurate information.
