She gets a certain ratio of assistance for a certain amount of pedal pressure and you do not go anywhere without pedaling....
Some have a rotation sensor, (fail), as you can just
phantom pedal without putting in any actual pressure onto the pedals and go 28 MPH. Not an E-Assist bike
IMO. Also, maybe disable the throttle, also a (fail), in an E-Assist bike, if she has one and uses it she is now riding a moped...
