We're dodging a bullet with Hurricane Ian. They say it was that cold front in the southeast US that pulled it North. Our gain will be western Cuba's loss. It has to go somewhere. Merida suffered its last devastating hurricane 20 years ago this week.
While you dodge the bullet, my sister and my BIL are staring down the bore. It looks as if Ian will wade ashore right about where they live. Then stand around for a long while lashing the area with wind, waves, and torrential rain. Luckily, they're not the least bit prone to thinking "We'll ride this one out", so they've been preparing for a solid week and are ready to bug out if need be.
