I'm not "everyone", but if I ever bought a bike with a dork disc, it would get removed before I rode it the first time. Lawyer tabs have been filed off on all my bikes that have had them since I bought my first good bike in 1990. I know how to properly use a quick-release.
I have wheelsets with quick release and nutted solid axles and I never yet failed to tighten them properly, but I still choose to leave the lawyer tabs on, just in case. We're human and humans sometimes forget and make mistakes.
