They are 685s. A quick look suggests others have had this problem and half of them are unaware you can easily remove the bottom of the lever body to retrieve a broken end and are resorting to dental picks and other laborious methods.

I had a few scraps, but didn't use them. I'll put some fresh stuff on when I redo them. I did slip a piece on the FD cable with that in mind, but I don't think it actually contacts the edge.
