Patently false. If you're drinking Miller or Bud, sure, it's under 5%. At my local taproom, which typically has 7-8 different beers on tap, I don't think I've ever seen one that is under 5%.
Large majority of beers which i purchase have alcohol content between 4.2% - 6.5 %. I actually prefer the ones with lower alcohol content, the stronger ones I drink only occasionally..
