I never leave it unattended. Instead I take it inside stores, optician, the bank or cafes with me and ask if it’s cool that I either park it in my sight or if I can just carry it on my shoulder. If they say NO, I thank them anyway and go elsewhere. Have only been told no once in the last few years otherwise people seem happy to accommodate.
