I don't think MvdP has a strong enough team to be a consistent threat in a bunch sprint.
mvdp seems to do quite well in attacking in the last 7-8 kms before the sprinter trains get going full bore. not saying he couldn't
occasionally train surf like friere and mcewan used to do back in the day and mount a substantial attack at the very end.
