Bringing along the spare kids' bike

Hi folks,
First post here in Family forum... I periodically visit the C&V mainly. I recently picked up a Brown Cycles Kidz Triple, a steer from the rear triple tandem. I took my boys for a ride around the neighborhood yesterday and they were grinning like it was the best thing in the world. We're thinking it will be our go-to for longer family rides (SO much more stable than our double Wee-Hoo) but my older boy also likes to ride his own bike. I'm thinking that I'd like to mount his empty bike to the rear rack of the "bike limo" and have it available for him to ride when he's feeling energetic.

Has anyone dealt with mounting a spare bike? Should I be asking in the cargo bikes forum (which this really isn't).

Pic from the seller, as I don't have any of my own quite yet:
