rain pants. I often wear tights in the sun -- no sunscreen. Rain pants are to fight cold rather than rain. I've stopped using dedicated (padded) biking shorts. Takes just a couple more days to get used to the saddle.
I also have
yoga pants (discontinued) lightweight, compact and suitable for casual evenings in town.
