Well it really depends on what the bike is being used for? On asphalt, good road race tires will run away from any gravel tire, slick or not. And now with wider 34mm like the Pro One TLC 34-622 or the 32-622 GP5000 S TR, they can have reasonable comfort with decent protection, while doing it. The G1, depending on which one, are nice tires, but if primary use is asphalt roads, then it just can't beat a road tire. However, if volume and a bit of texture is needed for dry pack gravel etc, it comes into its own.
