I don't really want to go to the trouble of selling it, so I am thinking of donating it. Are there any charities that are capable of dealing with a bike like this?
Bike co-op or bike collective. Whatever they are called near you. Nonprofits that do various good things with older bikes, depending on location.
Pittsburgh has a few for sure.
