The Crest and Grail rims
weigh about the same, but the Crest has a depth of
17.2mm and the Grail rim depth is 24.5mm. Basically the same amount of material but the Grail is narrower and deeper. All things being the same a narrower and deeper rim makes a stronger wheel, I think.
edit: they don't weigh about the same - 380g for the Crest, 440g for the Grail. The Grail is simply a stronger rim.
