I admit I’m a terrible climber, which isn’t good living in New England, and I’m always in awe of the vertical some of you get each year. Honestly, I aspire to hit about a third to half of the lower end of those numbers. Both of the tris I’ve signed up for have 600ft+ of climbing, so I’m not attacking the Alpe d’Huez or anything but I’m still not looking forward to it. I will spend the year working on my climbing, if for nothing else than to avoid a DQ/DNF at a tri. Any tips are greatly welcome.

That is all. I just wanted to whine.
And, I thought I was a flat lander. Local 30 mile route gets me to 1,000 vertical. I suck at climbing also. Coasting downhill is my thang.
