I'd rescue a friend who did this exactly once. And good luck if I'm out riding myself somewhere. You wouldn't find me ready to come get you.
I don't for the life of me understand why it would be preferable to sit around waiting for someone to pick you up when you could fix this in a few minutes and be on your way. Waiting by the side of the road is boring.
