Good to hear you're back on the bike and sorting things out. I know all too well about wanting your routine back. I would say try to savoir every step in your recovery. Just keep doing what you're doing working hard and letting your body recover at it's own pace. Truth be told you really have no choice and being of a certain age the bounce back takes a bit longer.
To put it in perspective I'm recovering from surgery to correct a malunion of a pelvic fracture and a revision of a hip replacement. That was 17 days ago. Spent a week in rehab and got home last Tuesday. The part that really sucks is that I can't put weight on the right leg until the pelvis heals - maybe 5 or 6 weeks. Walking is not an option at this point. All I can do at this point is some range of motion exercises for the hip and core work on the bed since I can't get down on the floor at this point. Using bands for some upper body work and chin ups. Resorting to a hobble around the block on crutches but man oh man I'm kicking the stall big time.
That bruise you have is a beauty all I've got is a 22" incision where I was sliced open like a filet. I'll be back on the bike but I'm looking at middle of August as a best case scenario.
