You've already crossed a metric century. Know that once you've done a metric century, you CAN do a century. You have NOTHING to prove. After, OR before.
Please double check with your docs about how they want you to prepare for your surgery. You are just a couple of weeks out.
You are talking about a few weeks of your life before and after surgery.
(If it helps more, some of my happiest times on my bike have been the first 10k after my body forced me off my bike. Ashamed to say, it's always been a beer run. After my surgery in July, my first BIKE goal is to go get a beer.)
