That's the rumor. Sharp knives are definitely the better choice (mine are due for a tune-up), but I've had more than 1 incident where I got sliced before I even realized it. It turns out that being careful where your fingers are in relation to the direction of the cut is kind of important. That said, I'm convinced that knives are ruthlessly blood-thirsty.
And then my issue was I was careless while cleaning, having been appropriately careful while actually cutting.
