I get it. I understand it's extremely hard to change eating habits. I'm just fortunate to have a spouse who's a nutritionist and keeps hammering these health reminders into me until I get it. She always complains that I don't listen to her, but that's not the case. Her words DO sink in, just slowly, requiring repetition. That's just who I am, I need sound logic or convincing evidence before I adopt new behaviors. I'm not a spontaneous person. My reticence regarding disc brakes is probably a good example.
I have a similar situation going on. Eighteen years of marriage and I'm slowly getting it. I'm resistant to change.
