Amazing what pops up in the memory. My cousin, and best friend growing up, had a dad who was and ex Marine and a current state highway patrolman. Why I don't know, but he would go down in the basement and shoot marbles at the wall with a slingshot. Probably target practice of some sort. Her took us down there with him one time. Only that one time. A marble ricocheted off the wall and grazed my neck, level with the adam's apple. That was the end of that. I imagine he was quite freaked out by that close call.
