Do you see signs of rust? As you suspect the paint can be a big problem depending on what is underneath and how it was prepped for the primer, worse case frame re-chroming (minimum $300) and the fork re-chromed (minimum $60) if you have a local chrome shop, if not add shipping. The cables on mine and every Diamante I have ever seen run just under the decals and in no way interfere with the DT logo.
