It's almost time to renew our annual social security medical insurance, and it appears the cost has actually gone down this year. It used to be heavily top loaded, with us oldsters paying exorbitant sums and the younger folk getting off easy. It appears to be distributed much more evenly this year. I'm not seeing those large gaps between age groups. As we enter a new decade, I expected to pay in the neighborhood of US$1200 apiece. Looks like it will be closer to $700. We can surely thank our socialist president for that.
