How about an update that nobody asked for?
My experiment with the Praxis crankset didn't work out. Turns out the M30 Praxis BB cannot be shimmed or modified in any way to help with the chainring and chainstay clearance issue. Even with the help of the Praxis guys it still didn't work out.
My solution for the problem was to install the GRX 815-2 crankset with a Wheels Mfg 386 Evo to Shimano conversion bottom bracket. Turns out the additional 2.5mm offset on the GRX crankset was just enough to get the proper clearance needed between the chainstay and the small chainring. Chainline is just about perfect too.
Also installed the Shimano XT 11-42 cassette. Definite improvement over the Sram.
