I would imagine its a generic French bike with Eddy's name on it. There were
alot of "dept store" type bikes produced in france that were branded with
famous cyclists names, i.e. J. Anquetil, Louison Bobet and a few others.
From the description of the bike alone its difficult to say for sure tho.
Older bikes did not always have braze on shifter bosses, even some of the
top end bikes. The decals, etc. on the cbike linked above are a copy of
the Molteni team bike, I'd say you've got a copy of that.
