intheknowcycling.com has some really excellent tubeless tire reviews and they (he?) called the Specialized Trigger Pro a solid, middle-ground, unremarkable option. Maybe not an amazing tire then but there is also nothing bad about them. Many tires excel in one aspect but also have at least one significant drawback. A tire sitting squarely in the middle ground isn't bad in my mind and I'm very happy with their square-shouldered grip and feel. It's odd to me that more gravel tires don't have a square-shouldered cross-section.
The Specialized Trigger Pros are only 700cx38 though and I can see why someone might prefer a 40-45mm tire instead (or just a tanwall option).
