My iPhone says 12 000 steps so far today. I suppose more is better, but whether the goal should be 5000 or 10000 or more probably depends on the person. A one-size-fits-all goal is usually foolish IMO.

There's a step counter available on iPhone.
According to my watch, 8,000 steps a day is a good target for being fit.
You should probably know this as a doctor.

I was cutting back roses and other bushes at 7 AM today. Then I cut the grass and GTFO at 10:45 just in time for an 11AM showing. Went to the new house with Roscoe and crashed. Took my first shower at the new place.
My step count has been above normal lately.

Went to college graduation for one of my grandson’s today. Did lunch afterwards but it was a quick one because he had to bolt to work.

It's not hot yet, not even close. Windy - yes.
Come ride that charity ride with me next Saturday. 42/1800 for us old guys or you can do 62/25006 with the young guys. The women are doing 20 miles. 8 am start. Lunch after.

This COVID **** is for the birds. I finished up the new Circuit, with new bars, stem, and hoods, so I was anxious to get out and put it through its paces. But I just didn't have the snap in the legs, and my HR seemed about 10 bpm too high for the effort, which felt too high for the speed. I was worried that the bike was the problem. So last night, after a 14 mile ride that felt like it had been 20 miles, I finally looked up the effects of COVID on exercise, and found that "Post-COVID exercise intolerance" is a common effect.
So, I decided to stop beating myself up or doubting the bike. And treat the next month as Zone 2 only. No stomping up hills, no chasing other riders.
Today, SwimmerMike and I did a make-up ride for last week's rained out C&V ride. We went fairly gently, but at the 10 mile stop, I decided we'd cut 8 miles of the ride, so we did 20 miles and avoided the 2 climbs each on Arastradero and Sand Hill. And I felt MUCH better after the ride than I've felt since COVID.
Unfortunately, we're already 4 months into the year, and I've only got 1704 miles in, so getting to > 6000 will be a chore.

Oh, and after moving the saddle one last notch nose-up, the Schwinn feels DIALED!!!! No scooching back every so often, just felt planted. And for some reason, once I stop having keep adjusting my position on the saddle, the bars and hoods are now about the perfect height and distance away! Once I'm all recovered, I gotta take this bike for a long hard ride!

There were more cars out at 00:30 that I thought there would be. They probably were wondering what I was doing out walking in the middle of the night.

The road gets bumpier brother. That's all I have to say about that.

Good ride today and I felt better on the climbs than I have for some time. 65 miles with around 4K feet in the middle, including a climb which has been blocked by a washout for a few months. There is a narrow footpath around the washout and then about 4 miles of climbing with no cars.
8 riders started but one friend's back was hurting so bad he had to turn back and another went with him. So 6 experienced, competent riders with no drama, no whining, and no anxiety. Nice to just enjoy the ride without the craziness. Stopped for snacks at 40 miles at an outdoor patio thing with different shops. Had a couple spring rolls.
Old pic of the washout where there was once a road.

Yet the new people are happy to buy the house and move there. Maybe they recognize the quality of their neighbour?

The house next door here sold earlier in the spring there was no one obsessing about the size of the roses. To the contrary it had been poorly maintained for years and had squirrels (flying, not brown) living in the attic.
