T-Mar, I wish you the best of luck, in whatever you do, wether that means you leaving, or preferably changing your mind (hey, there's a possibility) and staying put here. Thanks for all your help, with our questions & stuff. I'm sure most of us really do appreciate you, even if we forget to say it.

T-Mar will be a great loss to this community.............his knowledge and insight are invaluable. I must confess to using his signature on other forums......."a picture is worth a thousand words, but only if taken from the drive side." Thank you T-Mar for sharing your knowledge with us........peace.

As a newb, I always knew when I saw T-Mar post, whatever he said was rock solid. Hopefully he takes some time off, spends extra time of projects and then comes back to enlighten us some more.

I propose that T-Mar take on a new identity and dazzle everyone with his newbie knowledge. That way we could get another 10 year/10K posts out of him under his new moniker. Thanks for all the information over the years.

See I don't get that. Maybe I'm missing something but I think it's weird to have a plan to leave a forum. I mean how much time does it really take to check a few threads every once in a while?
This reminds me of a different forum where one of the main guys just up and disappeared solely to watch everyone talk about where he was, and wonder if he was ok, and how the place wasn't the same without him, blah blah blah. It was all a move to stroke his ego.
Now I'm not saying t-mar is doing that, he doesn't seem like that type at all, but he better have something huge planned that takes a hell of a lot time or this leaving at 10years/10,000 posts thing is just plain weird.

I've gotten some guff from people I work with because I leave my phone in the kitchen when I work and have no internet access in my studio... I long ago decided work was an interruption free zone. If you want to work with me, you get to deal with it. It seems arbitrary to some folks, but I don't care. If T-mar wants to cut off at 10000 posts or some other arbitrary number, that's his decision and I'm fine with it.
I'm one of a very small handful of posters who have been here from the very first, even pre T-mar. When he arrived, the quality of responces on this board went up immeasurably, and they were already pretty good. More importantly, T-mar was one of the people who really helped set the tone for this board, which is friendly and informative. That's a rare combination on the internet.

Thank you T-Mar. Like the others, I'd be happy to see you stick around.
We could always move a bunch of his older posts to Foo. Then they wouldn't count.

I found the information from him to be absolutely fantastic when researching my Nishiki Tri. This detailed information he provided personally was available nowhere else. Thank You T-Mar for your contributions.

I've definitely learned a lot from reading his archived responses re: boom bike era Japanese bikes and different frame materials and tubesets and whatnot, but it would be even cooler to have some of that info distilled down without all the other noise. I looked and didn't see anything on his profile.

I remember when I was a kid on the intArwebz. There was a guy who had A THOUSAND POSTS. I was on dial up, 56K was a dream, and that seemed like an insurmountable number.
Later on, I got a phone support job- and when I wasn't talking to customers, I was on the inArnetz. I probably knocked out 10,000 posts between the 5 forums I was active on. (I think I still have a 3 post a day average on a forum I haven't posted on since 2009)
Back in the day, I looked at the THOUSAND POST guy as knowledgeable- just based on post count. Once I hit stupid numbers, I realized the high post count means nothing except nothing better to do.
In T-Mar's case, he's used his super powers for good and now he's got something better to do.
If he decides that he doesn't... he can change his own rules if he sees fit.
I do every day.

Just seconding (thirding, fourthing, etc.) what everyone else has said in this thread. Thanks for everything T-Mar, I've learned a lot from reading your posts here. Good luck wherever your wheels may take you.
