I’ve did a good portion of it in 2018, but broken into two days. The part after Chester, MA is tough. Slog up then a steep climb with a ruling grade of a little over 14%. A little beyond Monterey, MA and into NY will be new. In the past I dropped down into CT from Monterey.

On Labour Day, prior to the Xenia restaurante fiasco, we went hiking at John Bryan State Park/Clifton Gorge
You wouldn't guess this place is in the middle of soybean/corn fields, but that's how they roll in Dumbdumb Land.
I'm happy to report that the seven people in our party combined carried 0 ml of water on this hiking activity. Mojo31

In other cockpit news, I was briefly convinced I needed these on all my bikes.
Then the sticker shock set in. One US retailer wanted $70, and another wanted $82.

Oh boy.
It was a proper hike! On a rocky rim trail, down into the gorge, and up again. Lasted more than an hour.

Was right behind an ugly crash today. We were going about 35 mph with a trash truck blocking the opposite lane. A driver behind the truck pulled pulled out across the double yellow, people hit the brakes, and one rider went down hard. Looked like a fractured clavicle and very painful. Felt terrible and glad I wasn’t involved. The driver and trash men both treated us to a stream of invective as they drove off.
