If your friend doesn't like it, that beauty happens to be just my size.
Mid 90s 16.5 inch stumpjumper. I just picked this up for a friend. The bike won't need much work as it was ridden by someone who was a fair mechanic. He was the original owner and kept the bike properly serviced. It doesn't get much better than that. I'll need to do something about the chipped paint on the chain stay but that won't be hard.

Just bought this 1990 Sierra MOS from the original owner yesterday. He took excellent care of this bike. I look forward to enjoying a lot of rides.

As I recall, MOS stood for Mountain Over Size, probably referring to the head tube diameter. Or larger diameter frame tubes. Also, those quirky bent chainstays were made from fork blades. I always liked the smoked chrome finish you could find back in the "olden days". Looks like that stem needs to be pushed down into the steerer tube a bit..... Pretty sweet!

Thanks I will check that out. It was like that when I bought it from the previous owner and just figured he had it set for his riding position.

WV is not flat..
Not exactly super vintage being a 2001, but these Marin Muirwoods bikes are pretty cool. Pretty nice original condition and don't laugh about the flat tires, I just brought it home.

I run an 3X on my MTB and have thought of converting to a 1X. If I don't time my downshift well I tend to throw a chain off the front which would be solved with a 1X. For me, its' not about the ratios, but a chain thing. But when I look at the cost to convert I start looking at new bikes instead. What I really want is to go Di2 on the MTB. I have it on my roadie and it's fantastic.

New shoes for the Trek 950 (92). New issue Panaracer smoke/dart. Have the same combo on my 95 Giant ATX 870.

Trek 850?
Peugeot Canyon Express?
Wheeler Comp-Line 6600?
-OR-
Diamond Back Apex?
I'm leaning towards the latter, simply because I raced one back in the late `80s to early `90s, using that same tire setup. Then when winter comes around again, all I have to do is swap the studded tires back on, install the fenders, spray her down with Boeshield, and we are good-to-go. Watch this space, Spring is coming...

All great bikes. And here I thought I was the only one that saturates my bikes with Boeshield! It's great stuff - expensive, but great.

Just finished this Taiwan built Schwinn Mesa Runner today. Off to the bike exchange with it tomorrow to put in our spring sale this Sunday. Damn, I love that candy red paint.Minor t/u and a clear coat made it look like new. Replaced tha old rotten 1.5 in. tires with 2.0's and the plastic pedals with these cool ones I pulled off another bike, The bars were rusty and I had a new chrome exact replacement in my stash.
Original gearing was 2 x 5 with 36-48 front and 14-32 rear. I changed the rear to a 14-28 tooth hyperglide copy for the ramps, makes shifting much smoother with the stock Shimano friction thumbies. This is going to make someone a great bike.

Rustoleum automotive clear acrilic enamel. It really brings out the color in old paint. You could use a 2 part clear but it is expensive and dangerous to use. The rustoleum spray can paint supposedly has better anti yellowing ingredients and is intended for automotive touch ups and exterior use. Be sure to clean frame thouroughly and then rub out thouroughly with white polishing compound which will remove many scratches and ground in dirt. This product dries pretty fast and since it is just a thin top coat over already cured paint can be handled for reassembly after about 24-48 hrs. I have used it for years with spectacular results.

I agree - that whole Rustoleum line (I use the "2x" enamel) is so easy to work with, and it yields stellar results. I soda-blasted this frame to bare metal, used an etching primer, and then the Hunter Green and Almond Creme Rustoleum 2x enamel for this bike:
...and then the same clear over the top. I've done a few others this way and they always turn out a treat. Nice job, Cap'n!

Sounds like a gravel bike promotion if I've ever heard of one.

I have the same pair, brand new, just waiting for me to decide which of my bikes is going to be my dedicated off-roader.
Trek 850?
Peugeot Canyon Express?
Wheeler Comp-Line 6600?
-OR-
Diamond Back Apex?
I'm leaning towards the latter, simply because I raced one back in the late `80s to early `90s, using that same tire setup.
