Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Though mostly not a "road," still one of my favorite places to ride: Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock, AR.

It's the weird two-level one Canyon puts on their carbon Grail gravel bikes. It can be a little polarizing, but I find it very comfortable on long, bumpy rides.

actually did see a cyclist out here. there should be a video clip I can get a frame from. but he was taking the long way back, on foot, dragging his bike cuz it's too soft for rolling well. in hind sight I should have offered him a ride. but he was on his own journey ... I can only imagine he rode out on the aqueduct, then got disoriented & couldn't find the obscure foot trail, back the way he came, perpendicular to the auto sand trail

very excited to see this guy

here he is. I really feel bad now, for not at least asking him, if he wanted help. it's a 2 mile walk from the lighthouse
