As for me, rode the same bike 2 days in a row. . Today with my son - a 30 something - who chose my e-roadie. Keeping up on the false flat incline was a chore.

Today’s smile/smirk. Muy tranquillo! The cricket field has cleared, from the sounds it was a big fun day with good batsmen and sticky wickets. Small but surprisingly enthusiastic ‘crowd’.

A 65+ century today, five of us from the non-profit shop, four of whom had never ridden a century before.

About ten years ago I mapped out an urban bike path century around Denver, with less than eight miles on roadway. I finally got around to riding it. It turned out to be 101.5 miles, 3200' of climbing. We kept a decent pace for old people, just shy of 15 mph. Breezy, partly cloudy, 90 degrees.

For those who live here, we started in Golden, rode C-470, E-470, Cherry Creek, Platte River, Clear Creek, Ralston Creek, around the reservoirs, then back to Golden on Easley Rd.

I was able to get out and ride a 10 mile ride this morning before heading off to work. The weather was pleasant enough.

Had a good four hour yesterday and the temps were ideal in the mid-70s. Stopped mid-way for a double espresso and pastry. Increased fluid and carb intake by 100% and it really paid off.

New here, but at 74 not a 'newbie' to biking!

Did 3+ miles this morning 'testing' my half-century old Motobecane Grand Record. Just spent three weeks getting it ready to ride once again after spending the last ten years in the basement since we moved.

I bought a 2022 model Kona Dew+ from my LBS last April for commuting to my part-time job three or four days a week. Learned I can still ride, learned it's still fun, can be used for recreational pursuits as well as commuting, inspired me to spend the time (and some $$$) getting the Motobecane into safe, ride-able condition once again.

Strava gave me some numbers to put to my cardiologist who replied "go for it!" so I'm comfortable with taking things slowly as I increase my stamina.

(I'm new here so I have to post more before I can add images I guess or I'd be posting Strava's graphs & maps of what I've been recording the last few weeks....)

3rd ride after restarting. Started tracking how I fell and bike issues in a journal.

What started out as a 40 mile ride, which would have been longest of year, turned into a gee I've not ridden this road in a while 56 mile ride. To which I added an 8 mile town loop because I hadn't done a metric century in 5-6 yrs.
Told myself that was enough, rode home drank some water, ate a banana and stretched for a couple of minutes. Looked at my trail bike and said 'hmmm haven't ridden my age in a few years" So off I went for 10 miles on the local rail trail. Ended up with 74. I figure I'll save the one over for next year. of course, my birthday isn't until sept. but I figure once a year is enough.

My neighbor has a 3-yr old son who is totally into bikes, he just graduated from a balance bike to a pedal bike with training wheels. We "chase" each other around the street, funny I never catch him. Yesterday he rode off the street into someone's yard and fell over in the grass, started bawling, so I rode over and "crashed" near him in the grass. He stopped crying and started laughing, mission accomplished.

Unfortunately for me, I dislocated a shoulder lol. Hurt like hell. At some point this morning, I moved my arm and the shoulder popped back in. Still a bit painful, but I'm going to try riding later today.

A very nice but short ride on south branch trail. Saw a couple of cattle egrets, and passed several other cyclist. It's always good to be on two wheels they are.

26+ miles today. The ride out was very satisfying and fast for me, but the ride home ... high humidity and lack of electrolytes did me in.

I was maybe 15, 16 one autumn when I took umbrage to some sleight by my older brother & went out riding early one evening. Got up onto pedals & gained some speed, failing to take note of wet leaves on street; promptly tried to brake but crashed into the back end of a parked car I must have ignored. No lasting harm done to me or the bike (Schwinn, Raleigh? Don't remember but the Raleigh came after the Schwinn...) but that was a lesson well learned.

Nobody came to my aid but as I was only half a block from home I simply shrugged it off & walked back, looking for damage.

Crashing on bikes is kinda an inevitable occurrence, not unlike capsizing if you're into sailing smallish boats. Learning about how to keep 'em upright & moving forward towards your destination, wherever that may be.

I rode a 10 mile ride with my two sisters this evening. It was an enjoyable ride. Hopefully, next time we can pick up a more mileage.

Due to the weather forecasters predicting storms this afternoon and not wanting to miss out on a ride today. I got myself out at 6 am and rode. It was cool out at 64 degrees and mostly blue skies.

Finally rode up to Echo Lake today, my first trip up that high this summer, and later than usual. I rode with two older but stronger riders (all 65+) on nicer bikes and they ate my lunch. And we added a bonus loop on the descent, down Witter Gulch and through downtown Evergreen. 73 miles and 7,600' of climbing, high point 10,900'. It was nice and cool up there, and we had some minor T-showers on the descent.

I was able to get out early this morning before the heat at 6:30 am and ride for 18 miles. It was a very nice ride and I made sure I rode by the farm so I could pick up fresh vegetables.
