Ugh that was a nasty little crash - Vermaerke got a wheel overlapped, thrown to the ground so hard his bike bounced across the road. He was up but nursing his collar bone. Get well soon!
I had big hopes for yesterday's stage 7 with Teuns in the break and then Vingegaard almost sprinting clear. UAE are wicked aggressive about keeping that jersey though. Not much more hopeful today with Vlasov looking off but now he's come down on his face in that crash? Sagan was held up but I think he got off easier then Matthews

kasper the friendly ghost is now out and bonnamour has been ineffective. time to pull the trigg on “stage hunter.” not that’ll help.

Vlasov and Martinez out the back so there's my GC hopefuls. Vermaerke out. I haven't looked at the stage hunter aspect so I'm just going to pretend like I picked Powless

I may need to explore this stage hunter thing on the rest day. Have you figured it out?

Marked safe from being screwed by Caleb today. Was going to pick Wout but thought my team was too JV heavy. Replaced Caleb with Wout for the stage Hunter thingy.

o'connor is out. seems like one or two teams had him. be careful with transfers on the stage hunter thingee. it doesn't seem to eliminate riders that have abandoned from the selections.
as for figuring it out...not exactly. i get the not eligible for post tour points stuff but that's about it. looks like we might have two podiums...one for the original teams (with and w/o transfers)
and then one for the stage hunter podium but we'll see how it plays out. it would be nice to have this all sorted out before the best gt of the year in august.

Wow! What a stage today! Certainly helped my position in the standings! Amazing performances from a few riders I didn't think would be there. We'll see what kind of toll today's effort took on tomorrow's stage with its 3 HC summits!

1-2 sure helps after yesterday's suck-ass stage.

Holy carp Floyd Landis and Giro de Gallo! What a move up the ranks! Almost double the points of the next closest team on today's stage, pushing you up into 3rd place in our league and top 15% overall! Congrats!

Re: Meintjes on Stage 12 in Velogames
John Barry
Thanks George. You corrected it very quickly.
Any chance you could get Wout to abandon? 😉
Take care,

Hi John,
Thank you for your email, and sorry for the initial issue. Meintjes now has his points.
Good luck for the rest of the tour!

upcoming rest day recap! the pyrenees loom large and with the heatwave, there will be plenty of opportunities for breakaways and attacks.
there's also that little itt that may have something to do with the final gc standings.
don't forget to go "stage hunter" and swap out rider(s) if you're among those that lost any of these boys today: roglic, morkov, cort, clarke or kruijsin.
HugoSky and canam73 are playing rock 'em sock 'em robots while the rest of us are playing hungry hungry hippos. by my horrible calculations (not just limited to predictions),
eight teams are in the podium running for the classic game and seven for the stage hunter podium. right now, there are four teams comprising the top three of both games.
bon chance!

Do I get to replace Cort in the classic game, or is his elimination simply one of the hazards of the game?

stage hunter game is the one that allows for xfers. no replacing cort in the classic game but at least you got a decent return on him before the ciaofornow departure.

The stage hunter game checks a lot of blocks for my various personality disorders but I find myself succumbing to the challenge.

Not enough time for stage hunting for me I think. Kind of stoked to see a big break going away right now though with Martinez and Vlasov.
A bunch of Americans as well, hoping Powless/Jorgensen can really do something. Simmons and McNulty would be great to see a result but I'm thinking they're riding for the team.
Vermaerke crashed out and left me with a goose egg but no hard feelings. He was in a few breaks earlier in the season. Vermeersch fell on stage 5 on a corner like 10k from the line - watched that happen live out of the corner of the camera. Hoping he comes back into it.

Well, it's all but over. Will be eternally pissed at Wout for lying about his knee. I'm still in Tadej's camp as a fan, but Vingegaard (despite the inexcusable Danish pronunciation of his name), has earned yellow and is certainly an honorable sportsman.
Mr. Bodnar. If you're still in the race... tomorrow is your last realistic chance for a stage win.
